Dear Michael, my name is Katja, I live in Germany and in the year that you turn 50 I turn 30. Since I was a little child I have loved your music and danced to your songs. I was born in the GDR. But even back then in times when we didn't have much from abroad my parents had Thriller on heavy rotation on their record player. I remember being a little child I had always believed that you were from Africa because you are black and I had thought that black people only live in Africa. :-) I had starred at your beauty on the cover of Thriller and couldn't stop dancing to Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'! After the wall had come down I became a big fan of your music and I remember I loved you for everything from the bottom of my heart. I was 13 at that time and you were my everything. Nothing made me dance like your music and no thing in the world inspired me more than your dance moves, your videos, your life performances, your voice, your songs, your melodies and your message of love and a better world! I am very happy and proud that I can say I saw you live in concert! Because now that you don't tour anymore I meet many young people who have never seen you live and who would give everything to ever see you perform! For your 50th birthday I'd like to say THANK YOU for everything you gave me, the fans, the world - your music, your dance, your strength, your love for people and your neverending efforts to make this world a better place!
